Ice-skating in downtown is back! Knoxville’s Holidays on Ice – an ice-skating rink right on Market Square! Last year, 16,000 people took to the ice – and you can join the fun starting Friday, November 27, 2009 through Sunday, January 3, 2010!

Parking is free at all city-owned garages after 6 p.m. on weekdays and throughout the weekend, except for specific special events. City-owned garages include the Locust Street garage, the State Street garage and the new Market Square garage.

The Central Business Improvement District is offering discounted or free parking to those visiting the heart of Knoxville. The Downtown Knoxville Parking Break Program allows visitors to park in one of thousands of participating parking spaces in Downtown Knoxville for free or at a discounted price. Visitors can also ride the KAT buses into the heart of the city at a reduced price or ride the free trolley. Participating downtown merchants and businesses will provide parking validation or offer Parking Break tokens. Tokens are good for KAT bus rides into Downtown Knoxville or at participating parking locations.

Civic Coliseum Parking
Parking is available at the Knoxville Civic Auditorium and Coliseum facilities from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday for only $15 a month. KAT's Blue Line Trolley service is available free of charge and will pick up every five minutes during peak hours (6-9 a.m. and 4-7 p.m.) and ten minute service during non-peak hours.

Coliseum staff will collect the $15 monthly parking fee at the beginning of each month. Passes can be obtained through numerous ways. Parking attendants on site will be selling passes during the first two business days of each month. Security personnel located within the parking facility and the Civic Coliseum ticket and financial offices will be selling passes.

For groups of ten or more, the Civic Coliseum can arrange for the passes to be delivered to your business. For group ticket purchases, contact Michele Hummel at 246-2654. Contact the City of Knoxville at 215-2379 to add your name and/or company name to the list.

The Knoxville Trolleys can take you anywhere you want to go in Downtown Knoxville for free. For information on routes contact the Knoxville Area Transit.
